This camp will take place at Hurst Community Park. Athletes are urged to drink plenty of water in the days leading up to camp. We will adhere to a strict work/rest cycle in accordance with the heat index.
Mouthguards, Snacks and Water bottles are needed. Lawn chairs recommended.
Regardless of their experience or skill level, all athletes ages 10-17 are welcome to participate in HYPE's Flag Football Conditioning Camp. Here, athletes will execute various football drills in the heat to help them improve their conditioning, passing, catching, and flag pulling, while getting acclimated. This will prepare athletes for the upcoming flag football session with HYPE. Points of emphasis for this camp will include: rushing the passer, catching passes, how to run routes, taking and giving handoffs, flag pulling, and playing team defense.
This 2-week program is free for those already registered for the HYPE Flag Football Season. HYPE's Crash Course Flag Football is designed to get newcomers up to speed on rules, penalties, positions, jargon, and basic football moves.
More advanced players can expect to be in more of a teaching role while also refreshing their memory on rules and best practices.

Turning away from the hyper-competitive sports culture that has taken over so many playing fields, we make it easy for kids to try playing various positions on defense and offense. This enables your athlete to get a feel for overall game strategy as well as determine which positions they prefer playing. Our flag football program is a great opportunity for young athletes who want a chance to play football, regardless of their experience or skill level. Players will be divided up each week according to age and skill level in order to provide them the best scrimmage each week.
We will have 2-3 weeks of practice (Tuesday and Thursday) before scrimmages start.
1st Flag Football Scrimmage: 25Sep (projected), then each Thursday until 6Nov.
Register soon! This event, and all other HYPE sessions, will be capped at 16 participants per age group.
In addition, our 13U players will have the opportunity to compete in a league at an extra cost (GridironDFW). The games will be in Keller on Saturdays or Sundays (TBD). The cost for that league is $180. I have a code for us to use to get $25 off per player. Reach out for that code. cruz@hypedfw.org
